Sentient Software Limited and Sentient PPM Limited (together, “Sentient”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respect your privacy and comply with applicable privacy laws in New Zealand and Australia, including the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) where applicable.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in our own business activities, including through our website, enquiries, sales and marketing activities, and other business relationships. This policy does not cover customer data hosted or processed within the Sentient PPM software platform, which is governed by our customer agreements.

2. What personal information we collect

We usually collect personal information directly from you, for example when you contact us through our website, by email or phone, meet with us, or otherwise interact with Sentient in the course of business.

We also collect website usage information automatically through website analytics services when people use sentientppm.com. We do not currently buy or receive personal information about website visitors from third-party data providers.

If you choose not to provide information that we reasonably need to respond to an enquiry or request, we may not be able to respond or provide the information or service requested.

4. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

• respond to enquiries and requests;
• manage customer, prospect, supplier and other business relationships;
• provide information about Sentient and arrange demonstrations or meetings;

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising or remarketing on our website.

We use website analytics services on sentientppm.com to understand how people use the website and to improve its content and performance.

Our analytics services may collect information such as pages viewed, how visitors arrived at the site, engagement time, device and browser type, approximate location such as country and city, and selected interactions with the website. Sentient does not send names, email addresses or the content of contact forms to our analytics services, and we do not use analytics services to identify individual visitors.

Other than analytics cookies used to measure website usage, the website does not currently set application cookies of its own. These analytics cookies are not required for the website to function and can be blocked or deleted using your browser settings.

Our website hosting and security providers may set security cookies where required to protect the site from misuse or automated traffic.

7. Processing outside New Zealand and Australia

Some of our website hosting, analytics and other service providers operate globally. As a result, website and analytics information may be processed in New Zealand, Australia, the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate.

We use reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is handled consistently with applicable privacy requirements.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. Access is limited to people who need the information for legitimate business purposes.
